It was a good crowd and a nice day.  We had a lot of small sales put not the larger ones we hope for.  As sale totals go, we are a little behind.from this past spring.  See what happens today.

Kutztown Extravaganza September 2019 Saturday report

A typical Saturday. Almost no sales.  Overall we had less sales but sold a couple of higher price items which left us about the same sales as last September.  For sure not as many people as in the past.  A troubling issue with some of our other shows.
The management is changing from a 3 day to a 2 day show next year.  One less day of travel is good for us.  I think this is a good idea, I see more shows shortening the hours.  You really don't need all day, 4 or 5 hours is plenty. 

No more shows until November, Kimberton.

So, the show opens at 10 and by 12:30 it was raining.  Never a good thing for a outdoor show.  Had a few sales, but not what a Thursday should bring.  The weather should be better tomorrow.  Hope to make it up.

I guess I should say pre-show photo.  Being that we had a show only a couple of weeks ago.  Decided to leave the merchandise in the trailer, so this is the additional things we are bringing

Prallsville Mills Antique Show 2019 Sunday report

Did have one more sale on Sunday.  Overall, are sales weren't as bad as I had expected.  Sunday did bring just a little smaller crowd.  Talking to other dealers, some did said they would give it another try next year.  We're not going to make any decisions right now to if we go back.  The promoter does need to have more dealers next year.  A few customer had mention they expected more dealers.

In just 3 weeks it's off to Kutztown.

Prallsville Mills Antique Show 2019 Saturday report

It was a marginal day.  We did have about 5 sales, but need more today.  I'm still on the fence about the date of this show.  The mill is used for weddings and other events, so getting a latter date is difficult. Years back this show was twice a year, June and October.  See what happens today.

Last of the pre-show photos.  Tomorrow is setup and the show is Saturday &  Sunday.  Have my fingers crossed.  This show was cancelled almost 10 years ago.  Having it again on Labor Day weekend is iffy.  But we'll give it a try.  The mill is a wonderful location right on the Delaware river.

Small late 18th century blanket box in original red paint and having cotterpin hinges and shaped cleats under lid ends, good condition. Size 35"W x 13"D x 16"H. Provenance: From a private collection of Country Americana and fine Decorative Arts of a retiring New York State attorney, downsizing and moving to smaller quarters.

2019 Lititz Antique Show Saturday report

Did have more sales on Saturday.  But still not as good as last year.  Talked to a few other dealers and their sales were off from last year.  It's a great show with many quality dealers.  I still think the sunny weather was a factor.
A little time off then Prallsville in the beginning of September.

Unfortunately I don't think this will be a repeat of last years show.  Sales definitely down from last year.  I think the weather has been so bad for such a long time, come along a nice day and everybody's outside.
Fingers crossed for Saturday.

Kutztown Extravaganza April 2019 Saturday report

Well, if I had a crystal ball Friday, I would have packed up and left.  Saturday brought 30-40 mph winds and blew all the customers away.  Not a single sale.  50% of the dealers went home Friday night.  In-fact, there was no charge at the gate later on for customers on Saturday.
However, overall it was a good show on Thursday.  Not one of our top shows, but a very good one.

Kutztown Extravaganza April 2019 Thursday/Friday report

Lots of people on Thursday.  Also lots of sales.  Even sold 3 pieces of furniture. Friday it rained and kept the shoppers away.  But still had a couple of sales.  Saturday is always a hit of miss.

We're ready for the show.  There will not be any Thursday sales report.  At the end of the day we need to go to Ephrata, PA to preview an auction.  Then overnight in Reading, then back to Kutztown in the morning for the show.
