Kutztown Extravaganza September 2015 Day 3

Unfortunately we had to pack up and leave early Saturday morning  So no sales.  In the past it's been hit or miss.  A lot of people come out, but usually few sales if any.
We ended up a little short of our sales goal this show.  No doubt attendance was down mainly on Thursday.  Sometimes beautiful weather doesn't translate to more customers. I think this was just a small bump in the road.
Our next show won't be until 2016.  I'll post dates soon.

Kutztown Extravaganza September 2015 Day 2

More people today, but still off your average for a Friday.  We did have a number of sales today which made for a good Friday  And speaking of Good Friday, all the hotel rooms in our area are booked for the Popes visit tomorrow to Philadelphia.  Kutztown isn't that close to Philadelphia, but of course all the hotels doubled their rates.
You never know what Saturday my bring.  A couple of sales would be nice.

Kutztown Extravaganza September 2015 Day 1

Weather wise it was a beautiful day.  Sales wise is was, ok.  But it was a much smaller crowd than usual.  Some people blame the lack of customers to the visit by the Pope in NYC.  Many of the NY dealers who come to shop did not arrive.  Maybe because of the traffic problems.
Anyway, 2 more days to go.

Kutztown Extravaganza April 2015 Saturday report

Saturday, last day of the show. Turned out to be a much better day than Friday.  Had six sales within a half an hour in the morning.  This puts our sales ahead of last falls show, but not as good as the spring show in 2014.
Not much you can do about the weather. It was just to cold and windy.  Glad we did a well as we did. The new show walls worked well, got a number of compliments. Even a "Best looking booth at the show" from a few shoppers.
There's a couple of shows in June we might do.  See what happens.

At 2 o'clock, the wind stops blowing and it gets warm.  Just 3 days to late.

Kutztown Extravaganza April 2015 Friday report

Another cold and windy day. A typical slow day for us.  Had about 5 sales, See what happens today.  The weather report is mid 50's and not as windy. That should help in attendance.

Kutztown Extravaganza April 2015 Thursday report

The weather was cold and windy and then stir into the pot a few snow showers. Not the ideal atmosphere for customers.  But despite this, we still had a good day in sales.  Not our normal Thursday, but still 2 more days to go.  Yesterday the show opened at 10am, today at 8am.  It's going to be a long day.

Kutztown Extravaganza April 2015 opens today

We'll, the storm did arrive right on schedule.  Started out as a little rain and within minutes its was gusting to 50mph. Most of the people who setup on the field chose to wait until this morning.  The ones that did setup, lost their tents.  The dealers under the pavilion also ended up with a few broken items.  We came through ok, nothing broken.
We got to Kutztown before 12 and left around 6:30.  The weather really slowed us down, just a little more to do today.

The truck is packed and looking to leave around 10 this morning.  The weather looks good for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Today, not so good.  Thunder storms and wind gust to 45mph.  Oh well. I'll add booth photos tonight.

The show is fast approaching.  Setup is this Wednesday and the show opens Thursday.  All the new show walls are ready and the truck is half packed.  So far the weather looks good.  Fingers crossed.

Long Valley Antiques show report 2015

We'll...when it's reported by the weather stations that we're getting 4-8 inch's of snow on Saturday(by 4pm only a 1").  That pretty much kills the show.  And it doesn't help by closing the doors at 2pm.  That was the schools call, not the show promoter.
Just a couple of sales, the only positive is we got to test the new walls.  Only need to make a few modifications before our next show.

Long Valley Antique Show 2015 Friday night setup

Started the setup last night.  The new display walls have worked out well.  This morning we will finish the setup and wait for the customers.

Tonight we begin our setup for the show.  Started loading the truck yesterday and will finish this afternoon.  It's been a challenge with the snow, ice and cold wind. But, that's what comes with winter shows.
I'll update the blog  Saturday morning.

Starting to work on the show setup.  That's the new wall for our booth in the background.  I made 6 panels using the peg board.  Hoping for a faster show setup and more options on hanging things on the wall.

Long Valley Antique show is coming up fast, just a couple of weeks.  Been talking about this change for a while, making new display walls.  The old ones seem to get heavier every year. So I'm making new ones that should be more versatile and lighter.
